Force Off Season Matches
We may well be betwixt the Super 14 and APC – but the Force are still hard at it and prepping to give it their all in 2007. If you think this weekend's Samoan game is it, think again! The next month or so will see 3 class matches between Force squads and visiting teams from Japan being played at Palmyra’s home ground Tompkins Park in Alfred Cove.
Palmyra are running hard with this and the Melville Council has come on side in a big way, allowing parking on the reserve adjacent the ground and agreeing to additional liquor outlets around the ground. Entry is free on each occasion. The Club will also be running food outlets around the ground, soft drink outlets, face painting for the kids and much more! For the evening games, whilst Palmyra has excellent ground lighting, additional lighting will be brought in. The entire Palmyra facilities will also be available. The visitors and players will be formally wined and dined at the club rooms after the games and there should be plenty of opportunities for those attending to mingle with the players in the club rooms. When ever test matches are on the same day, these will be shown on the big screen and on other television sets within the club.

-
I have to wake up at 2:00am tomorrow to get to the airport, should be an awesome holiday:)
-
Have a good trip Shaun...
-
Have fun mate, gunna see if you can get to a game while you're over there?
Even just a suburban club or schoolboy match would be interesting.
Best you be hitting the hay now or staying up and sleeping on the plane though :S
-
Thanks guys, yeah I'll just sleep on the plane. Well family friends of ours son is around 10 years old so I may go watch a game or 2 of his and watch some of the seniors play after, although it is summer there so i'm not sure what they are playing now. I got him a Western Force jersey as a present (on sale $60 ;)) You know, get us know over there ;)
Yeah i think i'll go sleep now!
BYE!
-
Thanks for the heads up on this coach - as a force member I'm disgusted to have to rely on you for the heads up - but boy am I grateful for the info - I have sent your article to various friends etc..
Thanks again:)
-
No worries oh queerie ;)
I'm not sure why RugbyWA haven't kept us more up to date with these matches - they do have some dates on their website for these matches, but they mostly seem incorrect when compared to the information I am getting from elsewhere... We both agree on Wednesdays (12th July) game at Tompkins Park, and I will get confirmation on all th eother matches.
Here is RugbyWA's (inaccurate) schedule: http://www.rugbywa.com.au/wa/wa.rugby/page/46412
It's all very confusing :S But I WILL get confirmation, that the details I sent out are correct.
-
Any clues on the draw of the APC then?
-
Queensland on September 9 in Brisbane
ACT on September 15 in Canberra
NSW on September 23 in Bathurst.
-
Hmm, I'd rather go to Canberra than Bathurst.
-
bathurst hey, try lines at each end of mount panorama will make for an interesting game, a defence line 800 meters wide :D
-
they could do that at Subi........same bloody size.
