A new rugby challenge - Watching rugby at a pub – some help please?
Am I destined to watch rugby on my humble widescreen TV at home?? :confused:
Is it really that hard for pubs in Perth to call themselves a “Sports Bar” then proceed to insult whatever game they show by stretching the 4:3 (square) image onto a 16:9 (rectangle) widescreen so that all the images (ie players) are out of proportion? :eek:
Ultimately I am after a pub in Perth that will:
- 1) Play live rugby; (yes there are lots of those around thank goodness) – but how many of those pubs:
- a. Have the commentary turned on so that people can hear it;
- b. Have the technology to broadcast events on other screens at the same time (i.e. live cricket, footy etc (very important for maximum viewing pleasure and to satisfy all parties!) - (i.e. as we discovered last week - Fenians in St Georges Tce is incapable of doing this) and;
- c. Display the image in the correct aspect ratio; (very important to me because I want to view the game how it's meant to be broadcast and watched)
So far I have only found a pub in Narrogin (god bless 'em!), the Vic in Subi and one of the screens at the Inglewood who have managed to figure this out... 8-)
Please add to the list or at least point me in the right direction in order to find my rugby nirvana in a pub… :redface:
Thanks
