Is there a quick an easy way to back up Purchased DVDs to a hard drive as a .avi file?
And to take the thought one step further, if the purchased DVD was of a tv show , and each disc had 4 episodes. Can you have 4 seperate .avi files?

I use software like "Clone DVD" or "Alcohol 120" It is image making software and works really well. You can use "Deamon Tools" to Play this image like a real DVD as well
It is small programs that you can download from the web and you will find patches for most of them.

Are you trying to scam a copy of Watchmen???
I use dvd shrink to backup all my stuff its free and you don't need to worry if the dvd is protected, mind you I'm not sure if it can break up episodes... I'd imagine it would, but I haven't gone all that into it! as long as I can put them on to my bros media box thing I'm happy! ;p
Not sure what other freeware is out there, I've been using DVDshrink for years! lol
I love what the software has picked up as "similar threads" below!

DVD Shrink? Is that the process of leaving a disc on the dashboard on a hot day?
Wouldn't that be warping Burgs?
Maybe in the cool climes of the SW ;)
