Peter Fitzsimons
Went to a charity lunch on Friday at Burswood with Peter Fitzsimons as speaker. He's a fantastic presenter and had some great stories about rugby and a few other sports in his career as a journalist (and a Wallaby!) Had everyone in stitches with his jokes too - there were a few blank looks from non-sports enthusiasts (but why go to a sportmen's lunch if you don't like sport!)
Has anyone read any of his books? They were giving a few away as raffle prizes but I didn't win one :(

He is a great author, read John Eales biography, and Kokoda for example, great storyteller, and if you don't feel emotional after reading Kokoda then you are un-Australian...
-
Hear, Hear! his Kakoda was very well written in a narrative style.
He also authoured a book about the 'little sparrow' an Australian-French resistance fighter, I forget her name now.

Nancy Wake - the White Mouse

Read "The Rugby War" that was made into the doco "Stealing Rugby". An interesting read and for a gooble-up-anything-to-do-with-rugby type person such as myself, highly entertaining.
-
I've got both "Kokoda" and "Tobruk" and they are both GREAT reads in my opinon
-
I always enjoy him when he guests on the back page on fox!

Just finished 'The Ballad of Les Darcy' Real lump in the throat stuff, and a fantastic interpretation of the events. It reads like a novel, but contains the facts.

I like him when he's on the "the back page" as well, most entertaining
