insurance advice required

folks - anyone work in the insurance industry?
I need advice: I had a break-in a few months ago and my insurance covered my losses. however one of their "preferred suppliers" has not been able to source a Camera tripod quick release shoe that was stolen with my camera. On its own, its worth a fraction of the whole tripod but without it, my tripod is useless.

their supplier has been stalling for over 8 weeks now and still has no ETA on getting me this item.

what do i do?

Im thinking of demanding they replace my tripod with a complete unit as its like having a car that's engine cannot be replaced - its written off right?
is that possible... is it usually something that is done? :whatever:

I am a Financial Adviser...Threaten them with Consumer Protection..You paid for a policy and should get what was stolen..if they are unable to supply through their preferred suppliers tough nuts, they give you the cash for you to get it....Don't stand for any messing, and don't accept any less than you think the replacement is worth....
