Richard Brown one of 10 Force Stars in WA Club Action
Wallabies squad member Richard Brown is one of 10 Emirates Western Force players on deck for Round 11 of the KWIK Senior Rugby Competition.
Wallabies Coach Robbie Deans released Brown and others, who missed out on selection in the match 22 for the opening Test against Ireland on Saturday, back to their respective clubs for this weekend’s matches.
After sampling life as a Wallaby over the past 11 days, Brown will be keen to perform when he turns out for Cottesloe against Perth-Bayswater at Pat O’Hara Reserve on Saturday.
All five Round 11 matches will feature players with Super 14 experience, as the season surges past its half-way point.
Brown will be joined by fan favourite AJ Whalley in the Seagulls lineup, while the clash between Wanneroo and Nedlands at Kingsway will feature four of the more experienced players in the Emirates Western Force squad.
For Nedlands, Haig Sare and Luke Holmes return to the fold while Wanneroo will have Chris O’Young calling the shots from scrumhalf and 50-cap veteran Junior Pelesasa in the midfield.
Competition-leading Kalamunda will visit Wests-Subiaco, with centre Josh Tatupu looking to continue his dominant form against one of the season’s genuine surprise packets at Rosalie.
Rookie scrumhalf James Stannard will line up for University in their clash with Associates at Allen Park, while Palmyra’s battle with Rockingham features the clash of two of the Emirates Western Force big men.
Props Gareth Hardy (Palmyra) and Kieran Longbottom (Rockingham) will pack down for their respective clubs at Tompkins Oval.
