Some selections look questionable. But a decent squad.
Issues for me are:
- No third hooker, especially given TPN has concussion problems;
- "Missing in Action Palu" in the squad after not doing anything in second Bledisloe;
- Kane Douglas in the squad after a 20 minute cameo, where he did nothing to impress;
- "Passenger Skelton" being in the squad at the expense of locks that can jump and scrummage.
I fear for our world cup hopes, looks like another 4 more years.
Only time will tell if his selections were right or wrong, I cant see any world beaters having been left behind, probably needed a third hooker instead of Palu or McMahon. Let's just hope that we do not get any injury in that position....

Cheika names 'two clean Wallabies teams'
Apparently this is the reason for the "interesting" selection decisions. I really hope Palu and Skelton are only in the same team together against Uruguay.
And only 2 hookers exposes a lot of risk if one is injured before a match. I'm no expert on the bench rules but isn't the law 3 appropriately trained front rowers on the bench for each match. Does that mean a prop can cover hooker? Is that appropriately trained?
What about the 72 hour rule for injury replacements? Big risk!!
How would you be if you were James Horwill? He's not the greatest second rower of all time, but to have 2 Tah blow-ins picked before him smacks of "picking your mates first" to me
Nic White is also out...
Skelton out. Howill in.
Horne out. White in.
Beale out. Kerevi in.
McMahon out. Hanson in.
Based on RWC squad and extended training squad.
I never thought that the Badge would make the squad but I'm wondering if the Aru or even the IRB will be using him in anyway!
If they don't it was one hell of a big marketing gig missed.
Not happy with Cooper or Palau in the squad but just have to hope Chieka knows what he's doing! I also think the inclusion of Douglas is slap in the face of the great young props we have seen playing S15 this season.
Extended Wallabies Squad for USA Eagles Test at Soldier Field, Chicago on September 5
Sam Carter, David Dennis, Tetera Faulkner, James Hanson, Scott Higginbotham, James Horwill, Samu Kerevi, Christian Lealiifano, Taqele Naiyaravoro, Nic White
If Arnold, Coleman or Jones go and play in the northern hemisphere you couldn't blame them.
Maybe I am bias on Coleman but he looks to have all the attributes of a test lock, could argue he is not quiet ready but he and the other two locks mentioned would have most likely only got better play in a Wallabies team. I know Jones has had a couple of go's already.
