Congrats Brighton
Brighton went into the game as warm favourites after losing only three games throughout the entire season. Old Collegians had a much tougher path to get to the grand final, having to win their last two season games with bonus points to be able to sneak into 4th spot on the ladder and then beat Burnisde and Woodville to make the grand Final.
Brighton were able to cross the Old Cols line twice in the first half, the second try was a great piece of counter attacking from inside their own half from a ruck turnover. Old Cols were able to stay in touch with a couple of penalties, resulting in a half time score of 15 - 9 (2T, 1C, 1P to 3P).
In the second half, Brighton and Old Cols scored tries in the first 20 minutes, before Brighton made the decisive statement with a try from nothing on their own 22. With the feed of the scrum to Brighton, A huge scrum from Old Cols almost resulted in a tighthead, however the Brighton No.8 was able to secure the ball and counter attack to score a runaway try under the posts after great support work from the outside centre. Old Cols were able to score a late consulation try, but at the end of the game, Brighton had won their 4th straight title.
