Beale re-joins Rebels squad What a Joke ....

Kurtley Beale has today re-joined the RaboDirect Rebels full training squad.

The 2012 Rebels Players Player arrived in Melbourne on Sunday and completed training and team logistics this morning.

Over the past five weeks Kurtley has undertaken an off-field program, which was established following collaboration between Australian Rugby Union, the Rebels, the Rugby Union Players Association and Kurtley.

The former John Eales Medallist will train with the full squad tomorrow, in the Rebels only team training session of the week, due to a shortened preparation in the lead up to Friday nights fixture against the Chiefs.

Rebels Head Coach, Damien Hill, will consult with the playing group and be guided by Beale's training form and integration within the team, before Kurtley is made available for selection.

Beale will continue to undertake an agreed off-field program.

At the request of Kurtley, he will not be available for media interviews until regaining selection for the Rebels.

Hill will announce his side to take on the reigning Super Rugby Champions, the Chiefs at AAMI Park on Friday at 7:40, this Wednesday.

Exactly right, he might spend a week in a suit, but then be named in the side with enough time to 'prove himself' before lining up for the Wallabies in the first test of the season!

maybe the ARU are thinking Beale is going to be the difference for the lions tests and have had him sent to the himalayas to do high altitude training, sleep in a hyperbaric chamber, shed a few kegs and come back to save the day?!?

Mogg unfortunately has to compete with the Folau media circus. Playing the house down only gets you so far in this day and age.

BTW - I'm not anti-Folau I just think the media beat-up is a little early...

Beale won't compete with Mogg for a spot, He'll compete with Cooper and JOC

I'd forgotten about Folau. No idea how, he's been pretty good. But like you I think it's a little early to buff him up and put him in the front of the shop.
