I was wondering if anyone knows anywhere that shows the Rugby League state of origin games live. I know the Paddington Ale House does it,just wondering if there was any alternative venues??

Maybe the Windsor?
should put a suggestion forward to the Carbon Bar...
Last year they had games on at the Windsor- was full of bloody Cane Toads though! Reckon they can get Imparja at the Cas?
Im pretty sure the greenwood sportsbar shows it.
Who would you guys support anyway? Not the dreaded NSW team?!!
Doubt it Swee. That is illegal. Any business that shows it is taking a risk. But anyone with a Foxtel dish or similar can get Imparja at home for a few hundred dollars setting up. But I didn't sat that's OK either. ;) Don't know how long before they change to stronger encryption though.
While we're on illegalities, if anyone wanted to go to the trouble they can get an ABC asia pacific card and get free S14, NRL and AFL with a big enough dish. Of course that's illegal as well.
I also have lived in the Gong. City v Country being played there tonight at Knee Breaker Stadium
Shire Girl here....(ducks)
How come it'd be illegal to tune into Imparja Shasta? I always figured it was like tuning into WIN if Channel 9 weren't showing the cricket from the SCG (but with satellites, so slightly more technical). It's all FTA- surely there is some way to (legally) watch Origin without waiting till it gets onto Fox at 10 WST.
Shire girls rock!!
the wembley has it live
so does all the rugby league teams (south perth / willagee / north beach)
grovensor has it live
legends bar has it live
That's OK if you can get another station on a terrestrial antenna. In Mandurah we can pick up GWN & WIN from Bunbury. Sometimes WIN are better with RL broadcast times.
Imparja and Central 7 are only available on satellite from the Remote Area Broadcast Service. A smart card is needed from Optus Aurora. They are only encrypted for WIN & GWN in WA. People can apply for a card to operate a satellite system only if they can't get a terrestrial signal or if they are travelling in a motor home or caravan (in which case the can also get Imparja & C7 etc. ;) Currently there are bodgy smartcards around similar to the old bodgy Foxtel cards. It's on the same bird as Foxtel so their dishes work OK.
I know of a pub in Rocko which usually shows them live....good mix in the crowd, PM me for the skinny......I don't go anymore, now than I can get a fix of the real thing, I don't need second best any more!
