Good move.
This was announced weeks ago wasn't it? Or at least proposed in the draft fixture?
I laughed at Scotland because they are now a midweek team
So how quickly can the Force get in there and organise a match during the Test layoff window...?
I’ve just been thinking, given all these mid week games and breaks in the Super Rugby fixtures to accommodate traveling teams and other test matches. Is Rugby in danger of following the likes of Cricket were we have an elite group of players who are contracted to the national team, who very rarely turn out for their provisional team due to national duties.
We are already seeing it with the pre seasons. The players who were involved with the RWC have the next month off before going north to continue playing, only to then return for another break before the starts of the season. Then half way through the season 3 tests and then a couple more super games and the four nations.
Will we see these wallabies players held back from club duties so they are not at risk of injury and as a way of lightening their work load to ensure they are fit and ready for international rugby?
Or is this just me getting ahead of my self?
I would hate for something like this to happen as it would devalue the Super Comp and have a massive knock on effect to the development of the game in Australia.
Just look at cricket who really cares about who is going to with the Shield? 20 years ago people did but that’s when the greats played in the comp as wells as for their country.
Food for thought maybe
yeah, i have lost inerest in cricket. They are always playing! who cares now, it used to be something special.. now there's a test a week.
I had a chuckle when on the news yesterday they said all of the force wallabies players were taking time off. Yet there was pocock in the gym sucking down a protein shake.
