Thaied up is a long term mate of mine. He lives in Lampung approx 600k northeast of Bangkok and has done for 14 odd years. Caught up with him at JBs on Saturday, after 7 years since the last time i saw him when i was in Lampung. Tif gave him a card and he said he would join up. They get all Super 14 live up there on Star TV and he is a serious cluey Forceman and surprisingly there is a hardcore rugby following amongst the ex pats up there( mining). Not bad for a small town in the back blocks of Thailand. Gave him a JBs, TWF jumper to take home. He was chuffed!

Thanks for the intro and the TWF jumper TLH. Thanks to others for the welcome to this forum.
As TLH rightly pointed out, there is a small band of hard core rugby followers here in Lampang (Aussies, Kiwis, Yarpies, Poms, Irish and 1 almost converted Yank), mostly English teachers and a couple of us in the drilling/mining game.
If anybody happens to find themselves in the Lampang area (100 km South of Chiang Mai), send me a PM....only too happy to find another excuse to go out for a beer.
Look forward to watching the Force next year.
Cheers

Gidday - nice handle, does the name reflect your Thai status? With rope or leather straps?
