Is anybody good enough after looking at the way they treated the BaaBaas
Will watch in the morning but imaging it was a white wash. If I'm allowed to say that!
As a playmaker JOC didn't do much. Even Quade Cooper set up more tries for the rebels then judas. The rabble backline looks much better with JOC sitting on the sidelines. Doesn't bode well for the wallabies. Barnes doesn't instill much confidence either. Trying to choose between JOC and QC is like voting for Gillard and Abbott. There should be an option to slash your wrist on the ballot sheet.
Cooper ain't that bad, he set up two trys for the rebels and scored one....
No-one doubts his abilities with ball in hand, the pressure is being put on Cooper, can he respond? Doesn't look like it yet.
That Barbarians team was a weak selection. Not putting too much stock in that result, especially as the Lions treated it as a test match, not a Barbarians fixture.
JOC didn't look like a test level 5/8 either....
At least we have Barnes :/
JOC wasn't much, Barnes will be flattened by the Lions I suppose QC is the best of a bad bunch.
Hard to believe 18 months ago we thought we had an abundance of talent at 5/8th, with Beale, Barnes, Cooper, O Connor and even Giteau being touted for the coveted position, now none of them can be picked without some doubt being cast.
What difference a year makes!
The Lions played a very poor team that threw in the towell after 20 minutes. It was hot and there was grog coming from every pore of the Baa baas. It was an exhibition fixture from largely has-beens with a few he-never-was's chucked in.
Cooper made some bad errors but looked really good in many facets of the game. The difference between that performance and times past was he would have chucked in the towel and had the proverbial shocker after he made some mistakes. He held his composure, scored a match turning try and steered the ship home. It was hardly the performance Deans or Cooper was looking for but it did show some character and some maturity.
JOC is a fantastic runner of the football. He isn't a 10. Only Deans would be stupid enough to pick nhim at 10 and it looks like it will happen.
Barnes could play 10 and JOC 15.......but I suspect Beale is going to get a call up.
Lealifano should get the 12 jersey. The kid is good. Will the combinations be there? McCabe injured........whooo hoooooooooooo
We have so many options these days it creates pressure. Good for business
Wobs 3 - Lions 0
Yup I agree. He is so skillful that he can get away with looking like a competent 10, 70% of the time, but there are there are little tiny glimpses where you can see he lacks that certain je ne sais quais that makes an international flyhalf. Cooper should be at 10 for the Lions series. Just watching him at the weekend.. a very, very skillful player...
He speaks about the VC
