My mail has it that if we have to host a semi final in Perth that it will be held at Dorrien Gardens as UWA is already booked out.
No hill to fill at Dorrien unfortunately, but there is a small grandstand.

a very small grandstand indeed, probably only a few hundred seats.
capacity is listed as 4000.
i attended a glory FFA match there this year and, apart from the 'grandstand', the rest of the crowd have no elevation whatsoever.
i will be outside selling milk crates before the match.
then i will go home (or pub) and watch it in comfort on the tv.:)
unless TIF organises a home open in one of those apartments overlooking the ground :evillaff:
Whilst central, that really is scraping the bottom of the barrel venuewise. maybe one of those apartments is on airbnb?
Where is Dorrien Gardens?
About a mile down the road from nib

Meh, unfortunate choice, but when I spoke to a guy from Minderoo, he said that that was the ground they had "heard of"
Fair enough, they've come from a business background, rather than a sports background, so I can understand if they are not "au fait" with local soccer grounds. I've been spruiking for Floreat Athena's ground, Litis Stadium. That has a grandstand and also a hill all around the rest of the ground. Unfortunately, I don't whether it's fully renovated yet. At a pinch, Macedonia Park in Stirling is my other option, that one has a very small hill around two sides of the ground.
I'm actually wondering though, when push-comes-to-shove, whether Dorrien Gardens is actually the only ground with deep enough in-goals?
Shame we can't get a freebie off NIB hey?
Semi and Grand finals, $10 entry, promotion all over the local media- World Series NRC. :)
Looking at that map, some temporary stands around Birdwood Square would be the business!
I assume RA, Clyne and his mates organized this to happen?. They felt threatened that the sea of blue was going to beat the Rebels vs Jaguares crowd from earlier this year and moved the venue to this shit show of a ground
↑↑↑Gotta love self-parody↑↑↑
Anyone else think of any other soccer grounds? I know Bayswater is a good one too. They've got a lovely stand, but no hill around it.
Do any of the local rugby clubs have big enough hills? I know Wanneroo's ground in Kingsway might be a bit small.
Should union go to RL and ask to use North Beach? Or would that take the proverbial cake?
Dunno, think something more central would be better for everyone, really.
Yeah, as long as they also do one at wanneroo
