Do the Western Force players want cheerleaders?
Just so that we can set the record straight, here is what the players actually said when asked this question during my player interviews......
"Would you like to cheerleaders at future Western Force matches?"
A J Whalley – You’re preaching to the converted here, I WANT CHEERLEADERS!
Garreth Hardy – I would encourage it thoroughly, in fact we should take a leaf out of the Sharks book, they have an outstanding set of cheerleaders.
Nick Cummins – I think it wouldn’t do too much harm, it just depending on if that would distract the players enough or too much. But I think if we all do the right thing there is no reason why we couldn’t have a cheering club for you know getting us motivated and giving us the support we need.
Ryan Cross – Yeah they are a big part of rugby league, I think a majority, I mean minority of the crowd come to them and I think it’s a bit of fun and they get the crowd going. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it.
Lachlan MacKay – Mate I’d love to see some cheerleaders I think it would a great idea. The South African teams do a very good job of turning out the cheerleaders and I don’t see why we couldn’t do the same.
James Stannard – Yep, bloody oath.
