ARC Ladder
Does anyone know the official way to rank teams in a ladder?
Is the secondary ranking based on points difference, or percentage of points difference?
Currently Spirit and Rays are equal on competition Points, but Rays have a larger points different, yet they have a smaller points percentage difference:
Spirit Points For = 190 Points Against = 119, 71 PD or 37.4% PD
Rays Points For = 213 Points Against = 140, 73 PD or 34.3% PD
Thanks!

Shouldn't the points difference for both these teams be greater than 100%. They have after all scored more points than their opposition.
I'd call the points differences
Spirit 159.66%
Rays 152.14%
using this method it'll always work out the same. as points differential.
Edit, oops no it won't!

I think they are going on just points diff. not % Coach.
Suspect the RWC will do likewise.

I thought a percentage scale would the points difference as a percentage of teh total number of points you have scored.
In order to have 100%, you have no points scored against you
In order to have 0%, you would have scored no points
In order to have 50%, you would have to have scored twice the number of points as were scored against you.
I only ask this as my my calculations, Spirit are 3rd on the ladder - the ABC table has them at 2nd...

I think AFL has 100% being equal points scored for and against, so 95% means more kicked against you and 105% means you've kicked more.
Would assume (if that is correct...) that would be standard across the sports.

Simple, Spirit are a gay team. All their points are worth less than the other teams.
Rams will be champs, I hear the trophy has already been handed over.

Chook, I'm surprised they actually had the trophy ready on time.
Thought it might be 'in the mail'
