What will Aussie Rob get for Christmas?
Right, now 100.00% of the voters have voted on the following:
Wallabies Tie;
Wallabies Cap;
and Stuffed Wallaby.
What a coincidence.
By Stuffed Wallaby, I assume you mean the team!
Jesus, you boys need to wake up to your selves.......you need more than a coach to sort out that bunch of idiots you call a front fall...oops?!!!
Can't believe there's no Aussie coach good enough for the national team - a sad indictment on the state of Australian rugby.
For once I agree with you Bulldog, we also need selectors who will choose our pack on form, rather than the need for NSW/QLD to top up certain players' contracts with a Wallabies contract.
Of course, once we have the best front row in Australia, a good coach will mould them into a competitive unit. Robbie Deans is capable of that, he's done it with the Crusaders, and their pack could match it with most international packs.
Question is though, where is he going to get the front row talent from? Certainly won't happen over night. I'd say the best thing to hope for is a less conservative approach to the game than Connolly such that we don't rely as heavily on the front row.
No option for a return ticket to Christchurch? :P
JK, I think the reasoning behind your commment (and other similar comments I have read over the past few days) is flawed. Its not a question of whether there's an Aussie coach good enough but rather its a question of if there is an Aussie coach better. Going by Deano's track record, none of the Aussie candidates could match his success and credentials, hence he was the BEST..of the candidates..to put their hand up.
Have to agree with Kenya, he has the best CV in the business and was available, so why not grab him.
Those people coaching in australia would do an admirable job, but we need a total make over of the Wallabies structure, selection and so needed an excellent international coach.
Nucifura would have been the closest, but a fair way behind. Other coaches in Australia need to be winning consistently to be considered - trying hard, being nice and coming from the right school is not what you need in a national coach. That one of Englands failings. Lets get the best and go for it.
