Rate the Western Force's chances against the Cheetahs tonight
I couldn't find the point spread anywhere. I'm going with the Force in a close battle.!
Try again Larry, I was probably still writing the post!
The Force aren't in tonights game to win - it's one of the battles they are willing to concede and learn from in the effort to win the war that is the Super 14! It's gonna be good to see all the new players on the ground no matter the outcome!
For me, today isn't so much about the scoreboard but how the boys play as a unit.
It would be great to start with a win and all the rest but the reality is that the Cheetahs are coming with all guns blazing and all their big names against pretty much our seconds.
A win would be fantastic under the circumstances however I feel we should be looking at a defeat of around a couple of tries.
Just over five hours to go, how excitement!!!
The result doesnt matter - its the team effort and playing and supporting each other that will be more important.
Well, going by the radio commentary, that sounded like a pretty successfull first time hitout.
It didn't sound like anyone was out of their depth and many names were linked to good passages of play.
All very promising for the future with regard to squad depth although the quality of the Cheetahs is yet to be established against the other Super 14 teams.
A match like tonight is invaluable for the younger players, you can't train that exposure.
For about the last third of the match it was basically a 3rd XV so don't be dissapointed about the results.
The Cheetahs were there to win at all costs, including benefits to their season, but that is their choice.
Kicking goals in a pre season match makes no sense.
For most of the game it sounded as if the Force were equal to the Cheetahs and even managed a tighthead on big Os!
I would think there will be a few rested players pretty keen to get back on the paddock to restate their claims to starting on the 10th, just to make sure!
Anyway, looking forward to reading a full wrap from everone who went to the game.
What was the final score? and anyword on the crowd number?
29 - 19!
I'm betwixt the game and the pub - ****in great game for the first one - Welborn and Stapleton were standouts from where I was sitting, drank too many beers - when there are 4 quarters, you gotta buy 4 beers every 20 minutes - man the real coach is gonna be pissed with me tonight!
I got 30 - 40 minutes of BAD footage, any one get photos from the game or recording from the radio?
Pub time - seeyas sometine tomorrow arvo ;) :approve:
29-19 to the force or to the cheetahs?
Crowd?

Crowd was quoted as 17,020 on the radio coverage peterss.
Down a bit on the predictions but a fantastic turnout anyway.
The Tahs v Brumbies apparently only attracted a couple of thousand as a comparison.
To the Cheetahs.
Ah Ok!
Not a bad effort buy the boys then i take it? Considering we had our 2nd string team pretty much and they had their Full line-up!
Not a bad crowd (Was expecting a little more myself) but after all it was only a trial game!....I was going to go! Damn me and finishing work late :(

This is the panorama I took tonight, will take another one before the first ever Force game
Great Stuff!! Subi looks good with some seating available. At sea until 02 feb then 4 weeks to catch some action!! Always hard to get a seat at the Eagles and membership other than restricted is pretty much shut so looks like Rugby is the Perth Live Hits Show.
Look out Brumbies!!
Cheetahs did well however considering the distance from home. Will read the press tomorrow if they can be bothered writing it up!!
