try Berrick Barnes, Gits misses the conversion. Australia lead 5-0 8th min
-
8 Miss conv M Giteau 5-0
7 Try B Barnes 5-0
A try out of nothing for Barnes. Australia had a ruck on the Irish ten-metre line, Burgess fed Matt Giteau out on the left and his pass put Tuqiri into space and charging into the Irish 22. Kearney struggled to put the winger down, O'Gara managed to but his popped pass off the ground put the supporting Barnes over in the left corner.
6 'The Fields Of Athenry' gets its first airing. A really bright start to the game, both teams are looking to move the ball at pace.
5 Lineout for Stephen Moore on the Aussies' ten-metre line. Free-kick for Ireland for an infringement in the line. Stringer takes a quick tap but after the ball was spread again, Rob Kearney is bundled into touch by Mortlock and Lote Tuqiri. -
3 Peter Stringer spreads the ball out to the left. Wallace is hit hard by Berrick Barnes. Another blindside kick forward from Ireland. Cameron Shepherd covers and kicks long. -
2 Handling error from Mortlock as he knocks on in midfield. Scrum ball to Ireland between the Aussies' ten-metre line and the 22. The first set piece collapses. -
1 French referee Christophe Berdos sounds his whistle. Ronan O'Gara kicks off. Australian ball and the Wallabies maul forward. Ireland scrag a turnover but Paddy Wallace's kick to the far left touchline is overcooked

From: MatchDayLive
18 Penalty to Ireland off the restart, the Aussies infringe at a midfield ruck. O'Gara kicks to touch for a lineout 30 metres out from the hosts' whitewash. Heaslip is found by Best, good offloading from the Irish forwards. Scrum ball to Ireland. -
17 Conv R O'Gara 5-7
16 Try D Leamy 5-5
Try for Ireland! A deserved one after what has been a breathless start. Donncha O'Callaghan wins a close-in lineout in the Aussies' 22. Ireland maul forward and with the Wallabies under pressure, Leamy piles over the line on a secondary drive.
15 Ireland kept the ball alive with Stringer busy at the back of the rucks. There is space out on the left and the Irish exploit it but a Leamy chip kick just goes into touch before Tommy Bowe can get a grip on it. Good covering from Barnes. -
14 Loose passing from Ireland but they just about keep control. Denis Leamy canters forward on the right wing. Lovely play from the Irish back row as Jennings and Heaslip help bring play up to ten metres from the Aussies' try line. Heaslip involved twice in a blistering break. -
13 Possession statistics are coming through, 56% for Ireland so far. Little in the way of the scoring chance though. Thumping hit by Tuqiri on Stringer at a ruck, the crowd liked that. -
12 Nathan Sharpe wins the subsequent lineout. Giteau launches a high bomb which Kearney does well to gather. Penalty to Ireland for not rolling away. O'Gara kicks to touch from his own ten-metre line. -
11 Better lineout from Best. Ireland maul forward and gain good yardage, moving over the Aussies' 22. Paul O'Connell is in control. But Berdos spots an infringement - O'Connell holding on on the deck - and Australia clear to the ten-metre line. -
10 Rory Best fails to find his jumper at his first lineout. But Ireland get the ball back after a Wallaby kick. Kearney tries to run it back, O'Driscoll finds space on the left wing, however the Irish skipper is tackled into touch by Shepherd.
