Hmmmm both sides have their merits, but I reckon the hard 'n' straight #12 isn't what Mitch is looking for. I'd expect to see some Daruda/O'Connor going on about there. I also reckon Richard Stanford will get a big look in at 6. I do like Robyn's front rowers, the bench included but it'll remain to be seen whether AJ has done enough during training to get the coaches' attention back.As for the other lock, Hocko and Beef are certainly going to be interesting options, both coming off injury, both will be chewing nails to get out there and strut their stuff. I honestly feel some of these selections will be made Friday and confirmed next week.
I agree O'Connor will be out there at 12 giving more room to Giteau.
It is starting to look like there is one to many backs at the Force. Having Staniforth in the shed is such a waste but not developing the new breed like Cummins/O'Connor would be a travesty and its not like you can drop any of the other guys if they are in form.
Yeah, but we say that every year and then the injuries start...
Daruda has been given a run at 10 in training. So Expect to see him run there well atleast on fridays game.
I am hoping this will be a breakout year for Daruda. For my money the first XV should be
1. Hardy
2. McIsaac
3. Whalley (although I've love to see how Pek would go at 3)
4. Hockings
5. Sharpie
6. Horua
7. Pocock
8. Brown
9. Valentine
10. Giteau
11. Mitchell
12. Daruda
13. Cross
14. Staniforth
15. Shepherd
Bench: Holmes, Takiari, Pusey, Hodgson, O'Young, O'Connor (for 10/12/15) and Nick Cummins (for 13/14/11).
good luck with this being Daruda's break through year - he will barely get a chance to prove himself unless there is some serious injuries... he is a good utility player
Agree with u Goony Daruda is a utility player I personally think he is not up to the grade. Some interesting selections. They have to have Stanifoth in the team, he's your utility for the bench but I would like to see him on the wing outside Crossy to finish off when Crossy smash's through the advantage line
Cowan yeh I reckon he has a great future I hope hes bulked up an bit a great modern day prop..... Stanford dont know much about him
You forget that Daruda is still pretty young. Its an awfully hard role at fly-half to run the backline and it really does take a lot of experience. He's up to the grade he just needs a bit of confidence and a bit of experience. IMHO for a backline with the quality of the Force you just need a fly-half who knows can make the plays, has a great pass and a solid kicking game. Any time now Daruda will be ready for that.
He's stuck by the Force even after being offered a fair bit more money in France and for that alone, ignoring his huge potential, I think we should support him.
And without a clear indicator to the contrary you'd have to assume that 10 will be open next year and the coaching staff will be starting to make plans and explore options...
andy u are dead right i hope he has a productive season and learn as much rom Gits as poss. He played ok tonite I thought hes gutsee
1. Cowan
2. McIsaac
3. Takiari
4. Hockings
5. Sharpe
6. Horua
7. Pocock
8. Brown
9. Valentine
10. Giteau
11. Cummins
12. Pelasasa
13. Cross
14. Mitchell
15. Shepherd
16. Holmes
17. Whalley
18. O'Connor
19. Hodgson
20 O'Young
21 O'Connor
22 Staniforth
Brock James has been excellent at Clermont. I'm not sure about his contract arrangements. Sometimes a player has to leave a club to gather the experience needed and then return to make an impact. Amazing how a bit of confidence in your game helps.
that has what to do with the Force run on side for the Blues game?
