2006 Metro Competition

Well its the season all ready - so we shouldn't be calling it next years comp.

The local season kicks off on the 1st of April 2006.

Some really good things are happening with rugby this year - all 1st, 2nd and Colts grades are being professionally recorded for all clubs.

Some clubs have really bolstered their playing stocks with a lot of new faces in town from the east (and sh*t loads from kiwi land) looking to make a mark.

Some clubs have been hit hard by player poaching (Wests took Southern Lions entire colts side - focussed on the best players and the rest followed their mates) so there is some bad blood between some clubs. Should make for some interesting times on the field (pity Wests and Lions aren't in the same comp).

Kala's not had any major gains or losses from last season. The guys look reasonably sharp in some of their preseason games and there is a good awareness of the style and plan that they want to use. Lightweight pack maybe their downfall.
