Rugby Australia CEO Phil Waugh is optimistic the proposed centralised model can maximise the performance of Australian teams across all levels of the game.
RA announced the structural change on Wednesday morning, designed to align the Super Rugby clubs, Member Unions and the national programs.

I was also reading over at G & G on how this situation now makes it the perfect time to renew australian rugby, and no surprises, making it sydney centric and doing away with Super rugby. With Mr Waugh's thoughts firmly in my head I'm wondering how much is just idle musings and how much truth there might be in all of this

Mate, without trying to be too sensationalist, the only way this is something that will get over the line in Australia is if the benefit goes to NSWRU. with the voting power they have at general meetings and the way they've leveraged almost complete control of the board and, as a result, the management of the game, they will block anything that isn't in their specific interest.Quote:
