I see that David Te Moana is not on the 2007 roster. I had thought he was contracted to return after his stint at Manawatu. What happened tro him?

G`day Anthony, welcome aboard...I have to admit i can`t remember why he is not on the roster, but garuanteed someone will...
Welcome to sunny (and lately just plain damn hot!) Western Australia Anthony
I think Te Moana was let go for three reasons.
Firstly he fell into the traditional plod workhorse style of Prop with David Fitter which Mitch has wanted to supersede with a more mobile style in the ilk of a Hayman or Sheridan. This has seen Troy Takiari at 191cm & 118kg come on the scene rather than the heavier Fitter at 183cm & 121kg and slower Te Moana at 191cm & 124kg.
Secondly following our inaugural season we had to have a net drop in our squad size of five positions and this primarily was going to come from the Apprentice positions.
And thirdly, although he didn't get all that much S14 match time, I think Angus Scott (and to a lesser extent the hugely promising Pek Cowan) has risen in Mitch's view during the Force Gold season so someone had to go.
I liked what I saw of Te Moana in '06 however I think in the end the main reason was the same as for Fitter, mobility.
welcome limey cocney type
