he leaves A.S.A.P.
that is all.
lucky reds. the force should have tried to trade him for a good reds player.
That was a bit unexpected wasn't it...
stupid reds.
I thought he had already gone thanks to the Ioane debacle?
he had a good chance of playing because of the ioane debacle. two wing spots available for next season (stanners back to the centres)
Yeah, what I meant felix was it is my understanding he went home and didn't re-sign on the strength of Ioane's verbal commitment.
When Ioane changed his position the situation had already changed for Stapleton.
Not sure of this and we may have been reading too much between the lines in the media.
I'm sure someone knows what is going/went on...
As I reported much earlier in the year Stapleton is/was homesick and wanted to leave Perth.
I know who he rents from and he hand to give notice to vacate.
I don't think Digby or the Digbarcle that followed had anything at all to do with him going home.
Now who do we have on the wing?
Turbo(Drew)
Sheps- hopefully at #15
Sare
Stanners- hopefully at #13
not too much depth there if any at all... gotta get us that Lachy Turner!
This homesick crap is starting to piss me off
Where I am coming from is that it was reported an "Outside Back" was let go due to the understanding that Ioane was staying.
We all basically came to the concensus, seeings it seems the rest of the Outside Backs are remaining, that it was Stapleton who was being refered to by that statement.
"Man Childs" homesickness may have varied in proportion to the amount of potential match time he saw coming his way in 2008.
Answering you Shaun, I would suggest there are possibly a handful of Outside Backs in Perth who have upped their training rate and determination since Ioane left, I noticed today that a benchmark of success in the Academy guidelines is to have a local player reach the Squad by 2008.
Home sick what a poor excuse look at the opotunity he would have had staying with the Force.
he will have even more playing with the reds i guess..
i hope sheps is back at fullback next yr with drew on the wing with someone else. hopefully someone will stand up..
Haig Sare is a good option, Don't forget Spanner, at least he's aggressive. I'd personally rather see spanner in 13 (given that the 4.5 million dollar man has his name carved on 12) because the ball seems to stick to Ryan Cross's jersey pretty much. If Cross can be taught to pass right a bit, or Git's can get him to stop getting in the way of the cutouts, then Spanner will tear arms of most of the opposition he'll find out there. I saw enough of that when he got his hands on the ball this year.
I'd say start using Giteau solely at 12 for the Force with Hilgendorf/Daruda/MacKay (If they are still there. Are they?) developed into a full-time 10 with one of the others on the bench to cover 10/12. That way whichever one of Cross and Pelesasa who isn't playing outside centre can play wing if there were multiple injuries. That way realistically we don't need any new backs and if there was an emergency we could bring in an apprentice or something.
