Can you buy anything from Harvey Norman for $30 apart from a gift voucher???
this has actually turned this into an interesting thread, instead of the same old rubbish!
C'mon, more first timers smashing the comp!
where did you get that from? that is a completely fabricated lie. there has been nothing like this said or written by rugbywa or anyone. rugbywa have sat on the fence with poaching/player buying, call it what you like. there are in the region of 50 existing premier/reserve grade living in and around joondalup who are not bound by any laws or rules to play at any particular club. joondalup have a recruitment policy like any other club are free to attract local, interstate and overseas players that they wish.

Once Joondalup have sorted out the Premier Grade pathway, they'll be able to hold onto their junior players easily. They will only need to "buy in" players for the first few seasons. The juniors will supply a good number, but this will be in the next five or so years. I know of a few that moved to other clubs to play premier grade who will return.

Sorry to disappoint you no.8 but that is exactly what RugbyWA have said.
I personally was not at the council of clubs meeting when this was discussed but someone I know very well was and what wholetruth has posted is exactly what went down according to my source.Perhaps someone on this site actually attended this meeting and could enlighten us as to what actually did eventuate.Good choice for club coach too Joondalup
I was told by the President of RugbyWA that to grow the game and reward Joondalup for their efforts, they would be included in the Premier Grade Comp in 2014.
The intent is to also not to create a Premierside at the expense of other Perth premier Grade teams. I am told JB agreed to recruit players outside the current premiergrade comp., and grow their own.
So... lets see what happens.
I think what RugbyWA have suggested/dictated is kind of irrelevant. At the end of the day JB can't stop players from other clubs joining their club, I suppose the 'gentlemens agreement' alludes more to them approaching players directly, but even then they could do this surreptitiously. And even if they started openly poaching players, what can WARU realistically do about it? They need at least 25 players of 1st grade calibre, plus another 20 guys who are 1st/2nd grade standard. They are going to have to come from somewhere and it's naive of people to think there will be no poaching of players. In the long term, obviously, JB can develop their own players, bringing juniors up through the ranks, but in the short-term it will be players from other clubs that will form the bulk of their prems & reserves side.
I'm unavailable tonight but I bet Hansie cries like a baby.
Just hope they play "Always look on the bright side of life" as they nail him.
Should be a good show, wish I could be there. Hopefully it'll be on you tube.
