The 2018 renewal information for the Reds and the Brumbies says that there are 8 home matches in 2018.
The 2018 renewal information for the Tahs doesn't actually say how many home matches there will be, but the odds would have to be on 8.
The Rebels haven't launched their 2018 membership programme as yet - which is in itself kind of interesting. But given that the Rebels have to earn as much revenue as they possibly can in 2018, they should fight tooth and nail to play all Rebels home matches in Melbourne.
So I don't see much scope for putting on a Brumbies, Rebels, Reds or Tahs home game in Perth in 2018.
If the ARU think that they will get a reasonable attendance by the Sea of Blue at a Perth "home match" in 2018, then they do not understand the concept of tribalism, and they should ask those nice folks at Sydney RU to take them to a couple of Shute Shield matches so that they can see tribalism in action.
Mind you, if a "home match" in Perth is against a Kiwi team, then the overall attendance might not be that bad (even with the Sea of Blue not showing up).
It's a shame Twiggy didn't spend $50m buying Channel 10, would have guaranteed free-to-air coverage.
Wish we knew more about what Twiggy IS doing. All gone quiet.
