No surprise England has been awarded the 2015. Considering the profit forecast. 300 million pounds. And that's after the staging fee. And League fans were crowing about a $5-6,000,000 profit from their 08 WC eat your hearts out.. Something around $700,000,000 AUS. Huge. The development war chest will be bulging.
Free accomodation in England, woohooo!!!! Plus all those years of learning Japanese will finally be useful!! How exciting and good to see Japan being given a go, they certainly have the financial funding for it.
It is hard not to resent the IRB a little though - SANZAR had to drag them kicking and screaming into allowing a world cup and now they not only get 98% of their revenues from it, but feel it appropriate to impose huge fees to even host the competition.
