To be fair...we only beat them by a couple of...oh wait...thousands really... hmm
The Tahs are gay.
Super Gay
Yes but Jehna, we must remember that the Reds v Tahs game was played in a small country town which closes at 9:00 in a substandard stadium with an inadequate number of seats.
Of course all of these criticisms are exactly ones which the GTT boys have used at some time or other to describe Perth, but we wouldn't want logic to cloud the issue would we?
Toowoomba is about the size of Bussleton and Bunbury combined and about as far from Broisbane as Bussleton is from Perth, but 2 hours inland. Nice spot, lots of churches. Me and teh old man did a pub crawl and visited every pub in the town back in 2000 (we had a taxi booked for a couple hours) when passing through - some authentic pubs still there too (back then at least).
For some unknown reason all my immediate family now live there.. :S Maybe it was to get away from me? You'd have to head to FNQ to get much further away whilst remaining in the same country...
So we are in agreement then our shed is better than their shed - what more rust or something
it would help if some of you actually put the slightest bit of research into what you are posting...
Gold Park has a capacity of only 2'500 with extra facilities put in to boost the capacity by a extra 1000 for this match.
Toowoombas largest/only stadium Clive Bergohoffer Stadium(9'000) is having work done on it and wasnt available for the match.
Sunshine Coast RU, Gold Coast RU and Darling Downs RU were all bidding to host this game, the QRU went with Toowoomba(Darling Downs) over the other two even though Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast offered considerable higher financial bonusses with larger crowds.
The QRU went with Toowoomba because they are introducing a Toowoomba side into the QLD Premier Grade competition in 2010 and this was just a opportunity to build support.
Also Toowoomba is not a holiday location, it is a country town which is the epicentre of the greater Darling Downs region, its main industry base is agriculture and mining. People leave Toowoomba for Brisbane or the Gold Coast on the weekends.
but hey, dont let facts get in the way of a good story :ape:

Don't want to shut this down mate but I just love the way you'll always ark up for a pisstake!
Of course I'm not going to put any research into it! It's a helluva lot more fun comparing two irrelevant numbers and using them to suggest that the :force: are better than the Reds and the Tahs......but, like some very wise man said....it's only a preseason trial....it doesn't mean anything!
The one thing we can take from this game is the support shown for the venue. There wasn't any more advertising for this trial than any other trial we have played but we eclipsed all of them. now I don't believe we have played a trial at home and followed that with a competition game at home against the same team, but I really thought that we'd never beat the Cheetahs trial, we could have done that by a bigger margin with more seats.
And four times as many as the Reds trial!:iconrofl:
i think the most important stat you can take from both trials is
nsw - 1 win, 0 loses
qld - 0 wins, 1 loss
force - 0 wins, 1 loss
now i know 2009 isnt that far in, but its all just a case of history repeating!
thats the facts right there!
the key facts for me were that NSW had around 4 or 5 of there Super14 players in the starting lineup, Reds had 2.
the tahs will do alright, our forward pack has been pretty much decimated by departures and injury, if we can keep our first fifteen on the park we will make the finals but if we get a few injuries its going to be a tough year.
