Maybe the sandals are '08 kit, Junior won't be needing them....
I'm gonna go with lack of advertising here.
There was a brief mention of the day in the membership packs (and still not everyone has theirs) and then there was the reminder only the day before in the cut out pass email. There should have been many more reminders than that!
Having the cricket on wouldn't have helped, but more advertising certainly would have. Not a huge turn out at all which was a real shame.
I'll try get my photo with the boys uploaded soon. Very similar to Gerry's only with me in the middle and the new half back too. :)
I would've been there but for a moron mate of mine who was getting married......some people!
oh and Kenya I believe I had a brief chat with you but I don't think either of us realised who we were talking to. Seane and Jedi told me afterwards.
Was a pleasure to meet you. :)
It had completely slipped my mind, but the cricket would have had it trumped anyway. Did we ever bottom out the situation with the internal trial match?
I only knew about it through TWF. The crowd at the WACA was almost a sell out which wouldnt have helped. I still havent recieved my members pack. I got an sos from maddington cricket club because someone injured themselves worse then me. If it wasnt for that i probably would have been at the waca anyway hahaha
Should I feel bad that I didn't pimp it like I do most events? I didn;t get around to front page notices or mailouts this time....
RugbyWA shouldn't rely on the fine vehicle that is TWF to promote its events; at least not without significant recompense involved! Given that membership is around the 15,000 mark & it is listed in the pack sent to all members (assuming that the majority have received their packs....sorry, OMC) then ignorance is no excuse. Em, Burgs & FT - you're let off on this one (absence from attending, not the ignorance bit!).
And here it is. Not the greatest photo of all time as it's just from my phone and the quality isn't too flash... oh and i look like an idiot. :P
But it's all good. :)
Great photo, Jess! :P
Oops... had no idea this was on- still haven't heard anything since I put my membership application in- guess I better check up on that! Though, like alot of people, cricket would have trumped it either way- saw Gits and Ryan Cross there that afternoon anyway.
Jess - you look great - so do the lads - BTW hasn't Ryan bulked up a bit ?
Shame it wasn't a great turn out. You'd think that it would have been advertised on the front page of the Force site. We had to call up Rugby WA to find out the details. Great to actually have a chance to chat to the boys though and see the new faces. There's a couple of them who'd benefit from a bit of training in public speaking tho!
Oh I figured it was you Jess ;) just didn't want the awkwardness of "You Jess, me KenyaQuin" tho I did end up doing that with Jedi :duh:
On the issue of crowd numbers, it was a disappointing turnout..much bigger last year if I recall correctly..but layout was much better. I put it down to advertising..I even emailed requesting a simple confirmation of the event through the Force website but didn't get a response (not happy about that..whats the point of having an email section if no one's bothered to respond).
On a positive, because of the low numbers, there were several photo opportunities (me with the players, the kids with the players, the family with the players) and even managed to sneak in an "interview" with the Coach, AJ, and Sheps.
