Good on him for going out on a high, albeit a shame to see him go.
He's a true gentleman and a legend of the sport and someone for aspiring young players to look up to. If only more players were as humble, dignified and brilliant as he is, the sport would be much better off.

Agreed Andy, it is a rare thing for champions to go out on their own terms.

This is a bit of a suprise, I thought he would go after the RWC. He's been around for a while and is still a champion player. While Dave Pocock will be able to take his place no trouble it does leave us short of top class experienced players in that position for the Tests this season. Good luck to George and his family
