Clear evidence to overturn on-field try??
well, that sucks
I don't know what to think about the game yet. Had resigned to it being a loss but had some home after the first 15 minutes
They just wanted it more
given the way the following 2 games went/are going, 31-13 isnt too bad.
Not happy! It may have been diabolical conditions but no reason to play that badly, some absolutely terrible decision and pathetic penalty’s that you wouldn’t expect from under 10s.
According to Cron it’s not ok to accept good over great?
We re we great today? Was that a great “performance”?
Well done to the Drua they were excellent and a well deserved win.
That game should never have taken place, the officials need to give themselves an uppercut, as those conditions were not only diabolical but totally disregarded players safety.
Stats are totally irrelevant in that quagmire and therefore I will not produce them this week.
The Force boys would not only more than likely never played in those conditions but probably since school rugby never played on a pitch in such a state, yet they kept trying and did as best as the could.
The poblem now is the fatigue they would have suffered in that atrocious match will have further implications against a high flying blues in Auckland on a six day turnaround with a plane flight thrown in for good measure, so let's temper our expectations and not judge the boys too critically this week.
After the blues time for the bye and a reset, and let's keep the faith and keep being the Force behind the Force
I reckon potters ankle will be a direct result of the conditions. But not complaining, we simply couldn't adapt to that.
It doesn't factor into my assessment of the capabilities of the team, unfortunately it does count for points on the table.
As one journo said. Hats off to both sides for making an entertaining game . My thoughts were …. What if you get trapped face down in a 2cm puddle while having to breathe heavily….
Not wanting this to sound like sour grapes (though I guess it is a little), do others believe this match would have gone ahead if anywhere else in the Super Pacific grounds?
I feel it's a bit "it's Fiji so don't complain".
Absolutely love Fiji, their being included and everything that they represent, but I'm not sure you can put that duck pond on Saturday down to just home ground advantage like a quirky local wind or a bit of a slope in one corner.
Perhaps some of the millions being tipped into Pacific Rugby by RA and Federal Government should go towards better drained and formed up feature grounds?
I used to play in those conditions in Wellington for years-the only difference it was 30 degrees cooler, lol
