I've just noticed that the 'FOX Sports' Game of the Round" includes, during the 7 weeks of the competition:
1 appearance: Melbourne, Qld Country, Force
2 appearances: NSW Country, Fiji, Canberra
5 appearances: Sydney
0 appearances: Brisbane
So that'd be Sydney and NSW Country, who achieved a grand total of 1 win (NWS beating Sydney) last year, getting shown on Fox Sports 7 times in 7 weeks. Doesn't bode well for being the "Game of the Week"! Meanwhile, the 4 finalists from last year (and the 4 finalists from 2017, so consistently good sides) get only 6 appearances in total between them.
I can understand the argument that Sydney should appear more often because they have a larger audience, but then Melbourne has a large potential audience and only gets 1 appearance, and Queensland is supposed to be a cradle of rugby and their two teams only get a combined 1 appearance in 7 weeks!
It's not even as if Fox are trying to save money by only broadcasting from one location, as they have chosen to broadcast games from Dubbo and Fiji.
Maybe it is a cunning ploy to promote the streaming service...
a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel or as cunning as a fox who’s just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University?
Why am I not surprised......
:joker:
Nice too see them promoting the game in Western Sydney too. Home games at Woolahra Oval and one at Forshaw Park (probably invite ScoMo to kick off - if his Sharkies aren't playing that day).
You'be hard pressed to get 2 venues further from the west. Dead Set!
So why is Ione going to be playing for the Rising?
A few of the guys ended up with gastro, so hopefully will all be back 100% for Saturday.
