great place and good food as well,
just wonder if Mandurah has the want for such a place..
Nothing has surrvived at the premises that it stands on.
Last place was also drinking and eatery
I can't think what it was after the buffet restaurant actually. But it wasn't a pub. Winter will tell Bunji.
They'll get the old farts' business, I reckon. Prefer to go there before the Brighton or the Slug, etc. The only other one I like is the Ravo & their food's gone downhill.
Great to see the place is chokers today;)
always a need for a place to put back some johnnie walker... OR 2:D
I might be paying Singapore a visit with some mates in a couple of weeks. the friday which the force plays the reds. I'm gonna pop into that penny Black Pub in Singapore to check out the Singapore Western Force Supporters Club and watch the game with some international fans. I'll proudly wear the force jersey in there and claim im from the land of the force, and hopefully, people will buy me some rounds. *Fingers crossed.*
Excellent, let us know how you get on - it was largely them that prompted this thread. Take some TWF cards.
You know the price of beer in Singapore bars? Don't count on any free rounds from the locals or expats.
I was in Singapore a number of years back on a 7's tour. About eight of us decided to go on a pub crawl. First stop was the Raffles Tiger bar and the poor devil who got in the first round was slugged $72. I cringed, but it was too late to back out by then.
Next stop was a karaoke bar and our hooker,Latimer Flavell. went up to buy the drinks. He became very quiet after he paid for them and I suspected he got slugged. Being a smartarse I went over and asked how much he paid. He suprised me. "I got lucky" he said, "it's happy hour and the drinks are $4 each."
This was great. I went over to the other guys, told them I really liked the karaoke, and hurried over to the bar to get in the next round while they were cheap.
Ordered the drinks, asked how much. $96!!!
That bastard Lats got me again.
:lolup::lolup:
Ya gotta love that one. :D
Singapore, like a lot of countries, is expensive if you hang around the tourist areas or where the local rich (lawyers) go. Book a good Hotel thru an asian website in Chinatown or similar and eat/drink/shop where the locals do and it's pretty reasonable. Large Heinekin about $4-5 SGD. ;)

Thanks for the advice!
This'll be the thrid time i'm heading in. Last time i went in was to participate in a Sevens comp there. And i do remember the ridiculous price of beer.
It was like $14 a pint of something in normal hours. And for happy hours it was 2 for the price of 1, but its still way cheaper here.
I'll be heading into the sports bars in Clarke Quay and checking them out, but not too sure if my wallet can handle it.
And speaking of Singapore, i've heard from some guys working at the Force that the Force might be touring Singapore and playing a couple of games there in the next couple of years. Apparently, there is a good base of supporters there and that they plan to time it so that we may play against Saracens while in Spore.
I always wondered why my dog ran outside when we were watching the tars, then I realised it was Sterling Warlock first prize winner Super 14's Mr Ugly
City pubs:
Bobby Dazzlers. Big screen, a bit bright but serviceable.
Moon and Sixpence. Rear pro screen, shows home games, not 100% sure about aways.
Carnegies. Smallish wall-mounted screens. Stone Cold's 'happy place'.
Anybody know any other city venues (esp. for Reds game tonight!)?
