He is gone, what a clown, although i did laugh that it was Cowan
He is gone, what a clown, although i did laugh that it was Cowan
OK, let's settle this down, Bakkies was dumb, sure, but Cowan did poke the bear by pulling his jersey and shutting down a certain try (assuming he regathered cleanly)
Since Cowan didn't have the ball, I would've thought the better approach would have been to jump up and run stud marks all down his back in an "attempt to regather the ball"
Anyhoo, Bakkies is GOOOOOOOOONE, that's good for us, hope he misses a bunch of weeks to give us a better chance!
Gone
9 weeks.

how convenient
PB..9 weeks is tough but you really can't go about headbutting someone in the head, much less in the back of the head, just because he pulled you back abit. Let that be a lesson..
Ah c'mon PB - as much as I despise Cowan as an annoying, dirty little git - that was so blatant he was always going to get rubbed out - even if it was retaliation.
Unfortunately the dumb infringements are becoming a pattern for BB.
And, as far as conspiracies - it stills leaves Roussow and Becker - not exactly a huge disdvantage!
wouldn't you be wondering if he is a liability to even wear a bokke jersey now?
I'm going to run against the run of play.
The AB's do the haka to say basically "we're going to rip your head off when that whistle goes".
Cowan got what he deserved and he knows it. The ref and touch judges didn't see it so that's the end of it. There should be no video referee in our game other than the TMO for try clarification.
We're going soft. Botha plays on the threshold of being red carded each game. He has to live with it if he gets sent off and messes his teams chances of winning. That video citing has got to go.
Next thing is we'll want banners made of toilet paper and glue to run through before the game. Toughen up IRB, it's not ballet.
headbutting is not a sign of toughness,its a dog act,plain & simple
1. Absolute dickhead gutless act, deserved a card and several weeks (dunno about 9 though).
2. Can't understand why Botha and Burger especially, but hairy backs in general, continue to think that such cheap shot behaviour is acceptable and "in the spirit of the game"? (Edit: When they are fantastic players when they play within the rules.)
3. But then, who wouldn't be tempted to harm Cowan, he is such an annoying whiny shithead! Just don't do it illegally!!!
What grabbing Botha's shorts? I agree.
The brutality of the game is one of beautiful parts of the game. I have been told AFL is a mere shadow of a game it once was due to the hardness being taken out of the game.
If you do dirty shit and your caught then face the consequencess. If it doesn't get seen then and there then it's simply too bad. No soft c**k sitting in front of a video screen after the game should be making decisions about players futures in the game.
We have a ref and two touch judges to sort that out.
If and only if a player is red carded should he face a disciplinary hearing. AND only then should that be for something similar to Botha's actions yesterday. By this I mean if you get two yellow cards for killing the ball you'd be sent off for the remainder of that game. This wouldn't need a hearing but a reckless act like Bothas would equal a hearing date.
Jesus blokes have lost testicles out there before. Its a tough game if players don't want to play they'll play another sport.
Head butting, eye gouging and high tackles are a dog act I agree with who ever said it. But if the ref doesn't see it then just bloody find who did it and have a square up with him. When the ref isn't looking of course.
hahaha, great call by the review pannel, 9 weeks at least.
The disciplinary rules are in place to insure rubgy players all over the world and at all levels can play at 100%, while having fun knowing we are protected from being headbutted. If this rule wasn't in place we would be watching our backs for 80 minutes scared that some thickhead jarpie lock is going to cheap shot us at any moment because he knows he won't cop any consequences. This is just like in boxing when someone does a low blow, they stop the fight because it ruins the sport.
If your stupid enough to headbutt someone like that your asking for it. Quite simply if he can't control himself then he can go away, no one wants to see this crap in rugby let alone any sport.
I have to agree with Burgs. Its a tough enough game to not warrant gutless acts of eye gouging, stomping , headbutting, holding someone back etc if you want to take it out on someone you can do it legally. I think any type of act outside of the laws is just cheating. If the players abided by the laws then they wouldn't need the video citing.
Only if the ref sees it though and after he continually warns the fighter before taking points off him or her first. There's plenty of dirty tacticts used that can go unoticed that they don't review after the bout is over.
Whose protected in grass roots rugby anyway? We're the ones playing purely for fun, if the ref doesn't see it or the 12 year old touch judge helping his dad's team out then it's too bad and you take it on the chin. Then dish it out in a square up.
My opinion and I know there like arseholes and every ones got one is just simply if the ref doesn't see it or the touchies then it stays with the game and there is no video citing after the game.
Give it time we'll be whinging the games got soft.
