Every team needs a flanker like that. I'm sure South African chat sites say the same thing about Phil Waugh and Georgie boy.

even though he is a thug? Spends more time in sin bin then anyone else? So it's your view that he is "awesome"? By sticking up for him you are showing everyone that you condone the actions of a player who is a thug.
But you can think he is "awesome he he he" because i think you may be the only person who thinks a player who behaves like Burger is

i have to agree with the self control part but george smith was holding onto him the whole time last night
trying to aggravate him, trying to get on his nerves, try to make him snap
even though he may of thrown a few punches to someones arm, they were to get george to let go of his jersey...happens all the time
actually it doesn't happen all the time. smith was not doing that on purpose from what i saw. smith i agree does aggravate players but that does not need to be retaliated by a few punches
the reff was right there when schalk was hitting or punching someones arm
he didnt give a poo
its all in the name of rugby
But you need Terriers um I mean Flankers to start the fights, that's what they're there for. Then the big dogs come running in followed by the smaller Terriers um I mean the backs who get pushed aside like Mitchell did last night.
nice explanation WRF(Y)
but that's not what rugby is supposed to be about
you want a punch up go to a boxing match or a game of mungos

But you have to admit Burger is a great player and one of the bok's key players. He needs to tone down his aggression though or risk suspension. I don't think he'll cited for the punches he threw (though he should be), cos Lyndon Bray was standing in front of where it happened and just asked him to stop it. I have to watch it again, but if the punches were aimed at the hand holding his jersey, then i wouldnt really care. But if it was aimed at the head/face of the player, then that would definitely deserve a citation.
Butch James needs to be looked at for his late hits and high tackles. The amount of times he puts a late hit into Dan Carter or Matt Giteau after they disposed of the ball is just gobsmacking.
And the CJ headbutt shld have been a yellow on the spot.
