I would be happy with Peter Grant.
Regardless of his perceived style of playing, he has the experience in playing big games against all sorts of opposition. He would be an excellent choice as starting 10 with the intention of grooming/developing his replacement, be it a local product like Burton or some other young promising player. He can kick at goal too!
KK's boy is waaaaaaaay too inexperienced at this stage. If the academy can develop him into maturity then fine. I fear he is liable to turn out like a JO'C and read his own press, so someone will need to manage that out of his thought process.
Ja - I thought he was missing last w/end.
Nice to catch up with you again, by the way PB
Grant wouldn't be a bad option as long as he fits a couple of bills.
1 He would have to be the stop gap and "flyhalf coach" until some of the younger local products are good enough
2 He'd have to be able to use a passing game when required to unleash the backline...too often this year that rein was pulled at the wrong time and therefore the kick became the default position
3 He would have to continue to be an accurate kicker in general play and at post
4 He would need to be prepared to sit at 60 minutes most games and hand the reins to his tutees, otherwise he's not doing job number 1
Keep an eye out for Nick Jooste - would love to see him developed further to be the long term 10 at the Force
I would too PG. I think he's matured a lot in France.
Gits does not need to play Super Rugby to be in the Wallabies, so why give up massive dollars and an awesome lifestyle. He will remain France based and I don't blame him one bit.
Hi Zim he is doing great but that wont happen while he is in Perth Mate He is off to Canberra early next year.
