Could the kick have been taped live during a match?
I wouldn't put it past a crafty advertising exec to come up with the idea!
Does anybody remember him making a kick from that position as a number nine?

Has he ever started a game in the #9 jersey?
He did start a couple last year before Knuckles realised that no matter what he might think, Gregan was the best choice scrumhalf.
Didn't he?
Yeah, he did, against Wales in Sydney.

Surely for the ad all he needs is a kick wearing the number 9.
Coincidentally I note that his hair isn't particularly sweaty in the ad so it must be that game.
I would have thought it would have just been at a film shoot where they'd make him look super pretty and have him kick and kick until he got it right.
Oh and a little bit of cgi action. ;)
Oh, yeah for all the angles from on the field and all that, but the shot from behind showing the ball go through the posts could have been live.
They could have even cropped Gits out of a shot of any kick you like doing that and then put him in with chromakey, I think there's plenty of ways you could do it cheaper than CGI, Photorealistic modeling is not as easy as you think and it costs a bunch Usually if you CAN shoot something live you will, even if it takes a long time, simply because it's cheaper tying a film crew up for a day than an effects corporation for a week or so (and that would only be to model the ball and the posts with some shadow)
I did find that ad amusing but I've seen it too many times now so I am sick and tired of it.
The thing that really annoys me is it's the same 3 or 4 ads every time.
