It's interesting purely for the fact we have never seen something like this before.
But the game and it's rules look like a joke. They may as well just play 2 games, one league and one union.

"Hybrid Rugby: The Game They Play in Purgatory"
Watched the last 15 minutes
Seemed fairly lame
The RU side won 16-12
St Augustine (rugby) won it for 16-12 over Keebra Park (league), but the real winner today was ... did anyone get anything out of this?
My feed kept dropping out so it was practically unwatchable - to extend my previous analogy it was like the phone kept ringing.
That was the impression I got from the segments I did see - there was nothing out of the ordinary and the schools will continue to stream their students in to whichever code is their specialty.
Oh, and for the record I don't think the game was as much fun as I anticipated.
jeez I watch the Hybrid game... CSIRO are looking into it with channel nine...
Seems most comments were positive. There were quite a few high profile watchers who don't seem to have rejected the concept out of hand. Be interesting to see if it goes any further. One of St Augustines the was scored by yet another Hoppa.

I'm not rejecting it out of hand but I'll need some convincing that it would actually have the benefits people are claiming it would at the junior level (and I definitely don't want to see it go beyond that).
The comment was not directed at anyone specific and particularly not you, Beige. No secret that I can see SOME POSSIBLE merit in the concept at a very junior level. That counts for absolutely SFA. Just saying that there are people right at the top of the food chain in both codes who seem at least interested in it. Including the two who originally floated the idea a few years ago. If it's a no-hoper it'll go no further.
