Worst one for me was also against the Chiefs last year. Force reserve players were warming up behind the tryline during the match (southern end) and a few (5 maybe) Chiefs fans were abusing the hell out of them, and anyone else they took a disliking to.
That was bad enough, but then some of them took it into their tiny brains that throwing food (hotdogs, drink bottles, etc.) onto the field at the players was a fun game. One of them got escorted away by security for his efforts, only to return to his seat a short time later. His heavily pregnant accomplice (wife perhaps?) didn't seem too amused.
a tasmanian Chiefs supporter?
I blame the announcers. They've started playing that bloody trumpet charge, so now everyone thinks we are in France and let cocks on the field...
I just dislike the fact they singled out the shed :(
dont close the shed! (Im all for more security there though)
Its a problem that will sort it self out. Unfortunately it mean our ticket prices go up to pay for the inevitable over reaction by rugbywa with the 300 SAS mercenaries hired to prevent this from happening again. But as a consequence the rise in cost per ticket will price all the Chiefs and Crusaders fans out of any future games :D
I wonder if they'll only beef up security for Kiwi games (which is all they need) or will they over-react and do it for every match for the sake of looking non-discriminatory
I remember that Marty, we were sitting near them as well unfortunately. Terrific bunch especially when one of them fell backwards over a couple behind and nearly started a brawl. Altho I will say some Maori kiwis were disgusted by them. AND..... here's a photo of 1 of them I still have on my phone I wanted to give to security when they asked me (AS IF!). LOL
Hang one pitch invader from each light tower.
It might not stop any new offenders but those five won't do it again.
