I am suddenly vRich, do the vBookies need a vLoan?
betting that way actually worked out marginally better for me
I got effective odds of (2.33 / 2) = 1.165 for Australia to win
as opposed to odds of 1.06 for a bet straight on Australia.
The end result of the bet was I put on 100 and got 116 back. Had I bet straight on oz I would have got 106 back for the same stake... special indeed.
I stand corrected :embaresd:
Although I will always think of you as our special friend ... :P
Fair play Moses but I hadn't really been trying to draw a distinction between betting on an Oz win or a spread-win by Oz, as you say both would result in a net gain to you in this instance and the spread bet was larger. What I couldn't understand was how the vbookie could offer the same odds on both spread bets, they couldn't both happen! You have simply demonstatde that the the vbookie odds are calculated wrong, it shouldn't be possible to place the same wager on both outcomes and end up in profit as you have done!!!!
vbookie = vpoor if he continues using the same calculator for the odds.
The odds, margins etc are taken from the govt TAB site.....so if we go broke...so will the government :(
Wish I had known that before TG, I hope you managed to place a real bet with the TAB (as opposed to vbet), if those odds were correct you could have placed 100k on both outcomes knowing that you were going to win 133,333 on at least one of the two outcomes giving a real profit of 33k...and I thought it was just the British Government that were sailing us up sh*t creek, looks like your lot are in the same boat.
actually we upped the odds for the margin bet....i really paid $1.85
But if Aus lost....then we would have had your $200,000Quote:

100,000 at 4/3 on Aus winning more than 17.5 points
100,000 at 4/3 on Eng being within 17.5 points
both at same odds mean the bookie is the loser whatever the result and that's why you should avoid gambling!
true, now all hail my -83 vBucks out of vPocket
damn Smith scoring first try... did anyone get that?
