Indeed. This makes me laugh, though.

Had a look at the HP Touch Pad in UK last week - it is lit like a lap top screen or I Pad screen - no go in bright sunlight! Thanks for all the input though. I also subscribe to a Forum/website called "Technology in Physical Education" (they are on Facebook) - we are all after the same idea! Assessment technology - on the pitch/side. Not sure how teams with the big budgets manage this when they are doing training and match assessment? I do know a lot happens off the pitch, when the team of analysts go through the video.........

ONE of the world's biggest computer makers quietly killed its first tablet overnight after just four days on sale in Australia.
In a new record for the industry, the HP TouchPad went on sale in Harvey Norman stores on Monday only to be abandoned by international press release.
In a statement, HP announced it would "discontinue operations for WebOS devices, specifically the TouchPad and WebOS phones".
While HP did not release any of its phones in Australia, after buying WebOS software from Palm, the TouchPad's premature death with come as a shock to Australian buyers who paid between $499 and $599 for the device.

You didn't get it at a Maccas parking area, did you?

What are they like for a drink tray?
If you are after a device smaller than a tablet, but bigger than a phone which you can write on with a styles look into the Samsung Galaxy Note
This is quite a large screened phone (5.3") and has the distinction of having a digitiser and stylus in addition to the standard capacitive touch screen making handwriting possible - it also has some good handwriting recognition software and office applications built in. Comes in at about $700 contract free - but might be suitable to your needs.
Doesn't have a transflective screen, but may be small enough that shading it is possible - the amoled screen probably performs better than standard LCD/LED screens in sunlight.
RugbyWidow has one and she uses it for handwriting notes (which in real time get recognised and typed into documents) all the time.
Oh - and it's also a phone :)
Apple lost their High Court appeal today, so Samsung can keep selling their tablet.
Downloaded the Foxtel app from Android Market onto my XOOM. A handy app if you desperately need to record something remotely..ofcourse, other option is to log in via browser for similar result..
the app is by far the best way to go.....I have it on both my iPad and my Galaxy IIs, it's about twice as fast as the browser.
Did you know they've upgraded the app to allow you to change channel if the show is currently showing....really fun if you're away from home but know somebody's watching the telly.....
I'm sure I'll be using it during home games to annoy my family at home!
Just picked up a SG 10.1 with 3G. Close call with TIF's Xoom because of the bigger memory for the buck. Guess we just stuck with Samsung cause we have Samsung phones and they're OK. Happy so far.
