and great work too Exile....and Jedi......
I'm off to sort out the books then into chat..
It was a good game! I just got back as well. The crowd atmosphere was great given the low numbers, but you could tell that we def had the true rugby fans there.
Henners had a good game for what he played of it and the new boys did well. Bit disappointed with Cross and felt sorry for Ratu who pretty much never touched the ball. Also a little concerned about Fava who went down about halfway through the second half but he seemed to be ok...i hope...well he played the rest of the game at least.
And you talk about number 3 for the rams...man you should have seen number 19..his hair..so wrong lol! :)
Very solid 1st half by Spirit, 2nd half pretty firm. No sad face stamps for anyone on the spirit team! Good game guys.
Shouts out to Brocky & Nick Cummins :approve:
Big shouts to Sheps for man of the match - was interesting to see him move up to wing and Hilgy drop back to Fullback for a while there - neither looked out of place. Sheps got some good practice with the boot on the penalties, and seemed to get his eye in - Wouldn't be suRprised to see him up to 100% Next week.
One word sums up the Rams entire game (from a Spirit supporters perspective) - underwhelming. Well, they were OK in defence, and alright in attack - but no-one shone for their team. That may be because I don't know half of them, but probably not. Poor Rams fellas are on the red-eye home tonight - that'd throw anyones game.
Members Equity Stadium kicks arse as a Rugby venue! I imagine many stayed away due to weather, do yourself a favour - make sure you get down there to see a game!
ELV's certainly did make the game faster - it should appeal to a wider audience. Thankfully, it's still looks like a rugby game!
totally agree Coach.....the pace was very fast with even some of the superbly fit Spirit guys going down with cramp late in the game...
excellent venue....great bus ride in from :jbs: and back for a quite ale after...
nice to see Sharpie and Stanners mingling with the unwashed up in the grandstand and also Super Coach John Mitchell sitting back relaxed and watching...
and a note on that....he seemed very comfortable with the way John Mulvihill was handing the guys....didnt seem to be giving any advice that wasnt asked for...
damm they are just a perfect organisation....
so everyone ..get down to Seldom at the Superstore this week and get your bumblebee gear......
by the time we get around to a televised round we want to see "The Sea of Bumblebees"
.

Not going to go to the next game because you were stupid enough to park there then? Why not just find somewhere else to park? There is loads of parking the back streets to the east of the oval....Quote:

Enjoyed Members Equity enormously - kids had a ball on the terrace - so I got to watch the match - couldn't believe the rain stopped just as Jak placed his foot on the pitch !
Almanac - got free parking 50metres from the ground on the north side
Whether he's boned up or not, names such as these are no commentators friend: Sitaleki Timani, Ratu Siganiyavi, Fa’atonu Fili, Filipo Toala :D
Fa’atonu came out something like TaTatoFooo Nuiii and am pretty sure that the ref James Lecky got subbed out for the Rams late in the second half - damm those full strength beers !
I think will brock is overrated, last night he missed tackles, spilled the ball and seemed to stand around a lot, i am sure all the potential is there, but hes got a way to go.Kiti faluna is a better flanker..
Almac - the third game a player plays you rate em - many an international debut has been somewhat full of errors and the next game you groan - curse the coaching staff and leave stunned at this new lads abilities - saw a couple players pause briefly when the crowd yelled their names etc.. the ME experience seemed to come as a shock to the players too - the Rams seemed to close down the Spirits play in the second half - so there were heaps more errors
Just watching the ABC news footage, it seems Crossie has made huge improvements in his skills since the end of the S14 and his pass to send Shep over was an absolute cracker!
Good signs for '08 for the Force that's for sure.
Real bummer for Pocock but an opportunity for Brocky and Fardy to show their Openside wares I would imagine.
so...who will be the no 9's next week.....Stannard did VERY well when he came on....an absolute freakish pass.......
