Stuck on a plane for 2 hours waiting for the storm to pass before take-off.
When we did eventually get off the ground (to Melbourne) we flew through the tailend of the storm, including lots of lightning strikes around the plane.
Eventually got to the hotel at 2.30am...it's been a long day today!!!
Some people can always be relied upon ;)
Think we were quite lucky out east - lots of wind & rain but no hail. Reckon we'd have had a stunning view of the storm from the house if we hadn't been stuck at our respective workplaces.
No power cut... but last time we had one we just lit candles, lit the gas hob with a match and cooked dinner as usual. Do all the MacDs, HJs and Dominos queuers only have electricity to cook with?
Mind you, proves the old saying - it's an ill wind...
hahahaha lol a tealight candle ... I can see it now :P ... lmao
The BMW didn't fair so well after all, it looks like it was parked on a golf range and stopping the shots from someone with a weak swing....:S:confused:
Out of curiosity, does anyone know how MES fared - do/did they leave the big screens up, just how temporary have the corporate facilities been, no chance it could have caved in the roof of the old building and trashed it to the point of replacement...?
Unfortunately not, Andy. I drove past last night and the south and east stands look fine. The scoreboards are still up - although they may have taken some damage which can't been seen until they get turned on. I couldn't see any obvious signs of damage to the Shed or main stand. If we'd thought about it, we could have organised a party Monday night with some sledgehammers, but I guess we're all too law-abiding. I didn't notice the corporate facilities - maybe they just totally disappeared!
Some of us were lucky enough to get flooded in at :jbs:
I recall this image doing teh rounds several times over the years:
