He stated that a postponement of the NRL would leave them bankrupt within a few weeks as revenue dries up but cost structures remain - the end of the NRL as we know it he said. I think that is inevitable and they are possibly are covering until some event outside their control stops them. Maybe to try to avoid lawsuits and complete devastation.
The NRL posted a $75 million profit for 2019. So where will that leave the SANZAAR unions, with at least one of them insolvent already? I think there is a fair chance that both codes could revert to pretty much amateur operations for quite a time. Maybe not the worst outcome - and a chance to learn from past mistakes?
