I actually dont mind sunday afternoon games. I really enjoyed the Force v Tonga match
You need a city centre stadium with good transport links to host game in this time slot.
Exactly. And having been to Canberra Stadium on many occasions I know what you are saying. Getting there was bad enough - getting away - forget it. I couldn't get a taxi for love nor money either, probably because of all the drunks standing outside trying to get one.
I trust the Brumbies to announce an accurate crowd figure, but I'd be surprised if that is 12000.
The best way to get there is by bus from the City. Your match day ticket covers that for free. Takes about 10 minutes. The Dock in Kingston also has a free bus you just have book in advance.
Never get a taxi in Canberra if you can get there by bus. It is a bloody rip off.
Yes. Have used the free entry for my kids (back in the day) to attend games. But I'm not talking about how many might turn up, but about how many did turn up. Would have been great for the Brumbies to get 15,000, just didn't look like 12,000 to me. As I say, I will believe what the Brumbies post, unlike the Rebels (or the Waratahs who have given up falsifying crowd numbers).
Its also a pretty terrible attendance, however of all the teams the brumbies do have the smallest population centre but I would atleast have expected 15k + , the Tahs and Reds should avg about 35k given their population sizes and the popularity of rugby in those states. The rebels should be pulling 25k each game, again given their size.
Last time Brumbies hosted Sunwolves was 10,479 in 2016, so with the attendence dropping everywhere that crowd is expected.
It was a good initiative by the Brumbies to do something.
I remember hearing years ago the brumbies used to give discount tickets to uni students to fill up one of the ends (like the Glory's shed). Does this still happen?
