very good second half by the spirit
Big fan of the hard straight running from the spirit. They made plenty of metres in contact.
Enjoyed watching the game on the bank. Much better spectacle live than at home on the couch. Not a bad crowd but should have been much better.
C'mon Perth get off your arses and show some support.
I was there!
RHP, Bill Meakes, Marcel Brache, in green and gold nrc team of the week. Special mentions to Big dog and Richard Hardwick.

Just caught the replay http://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/nrc/nrcondemand as i couldn't make it up there.
The Spirit did what they should have done to an inexperienced team like Brisbane fielded. Dominated possession, territory and the colisions. Very pleasing to see how hard they are attacking the gainline with their carries. Its always been the best way to negate linespeed defense. Fitness looked very much improved.
Just a good win by an experienced side vs a rebuilding side. Meakes was great along with McCalman, Hardwick, Brache, RHP and Eden.
Ruck Involvements against Brisbane City
Excellent win in front of the home crowd.
It was great to see the team adjust to the Hoff's whistle.
Remember:
1. Early means 1st or 2nd of player’s team AFTER the ball carrier has been tackled and brought to ground.
2. Impact means active engagement: strong physical contact, changed shape of ruck, clean-out, protecting ball etc. (more than hand on someone’s bum or arriving after the hard work has been done). Yes it’s subjective – but as I collect all data at least it’s consistent.
3. Impact DOES NOT equate to Effectiveness. I’ve concluded that coming up with an effectiveness measure is just too hard in the time that I have available – but open to suggestions.

- Fantastic to see Ross Haylett-Petty (my nomination for MOM) and Richard Hardwick lead the Ruck Involvement table.
- Pleasing return to form for Ben McCalman.
- Ongoing high level of involvement by Keiran Stringer.
- Strong 60 minutes by Heath Tessman.
- Best Backs: Billy Meakes - 12 Total (8A/4D); Manihera Eden - 10 Total (7A/3D)
- Rolling mauls good way to score tries but good to see alternate methods.
- Some strong ball carries by Billy Meakes.
- Limited opportunity for bench players to show their ruck skills as the Spirit were in attack mode.
Thanks for the shout out TG. Were trying to stream the game from the hospital but it wouldn't load so glad for your commentary instead
