No - firefox is good. It will not affect any of your othe software - you can even continue using Internet Explorer if you wish.
trust me ;)
Anyone updated Firefox in the past week? I have and it seems to stall for quite a time when connecting to a site. Must be a Firefox bug as Chrome is peforming OK on my laptop. Uninstall and re-install the answer? I still prefer Firefox to the others.
Actually We noticed at home that Firefox seemed to have really slowed up but haven't done any updates. Maybe they've been fiddling with it?
I generally don't use Firefox much these days - became too bloated, which is ironic as it initially gained popularity for being lean and fast :S
Chrome and Internet Explorer are the go to browsers for me at the moment.
Thanks Coach. Might try using chrome. Glad I searched for the thread tho. Worth it to find a geek topic started by the late great tech guru, TLH. :)
I have been using Chrome for the last 2 years - but have recently found that it utilises over half of my RAM (I have 4GB) to do normal web browsing. So I switched back to Firefox which is running with issue so far - apart from the occasional fault with Flash plug-in.
Just bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1 cannot download firefox or Google Chrome. Any thoughts?
Can you get to the main websites at least?
If not, try this: http://ftp.iinet.net.au/pub/mozilla/...t/win32/en-US/
chrome download the standalone installer, oh look! here's a link.

note that one is for 32-bit, you may need to change OS to windows 64 bit.
Got that offer too. Have you bitten the bullet yet jono? If so how's it performing? Some of us old farts are allergic to change. I still Miss XP and can't do half the stuff on W7 that I'd mastered on that. I wouldn't know a recovery partition if I tripped over one. :(
