For anyone interested, those who registered to trial for the WA U20s can be found here:

9 players who were part of the successful team in 2014 will be trialling. 3 of those made the Southern States U20 team in 2014. Reckon we will have a strong pack again this year with 5 of those 9 tight fivers.

Although I'm aware of most of these players, my eye is drawn to the one player who due to ability played around three matches in his club age group last year, the rest of the season in the equivalent of 4th and 5th grade - what's the criteria again????????????. Must have improved drastically.
Remember the name Hayden Anderson. If he can learn to channel his aggression he has the ability to play professional rugby.
Surprised not to see Mitchell Shorts name on the list. The most damaging outside back in last years 19s competiton, evidenced by his try in the GF. He missed the first round of the competition, but in the second round time and again he scored some fantastic tries running over and through defenders.
I guess you need to trial to be selected. But agree Sir Ritchie a very damaging player.
Anyone know who is in the Academy squad, can't find it anywhere.
Injured maybe?
Can anyone provide the positions of these players:
Carl Fitzpatrick
Conor Spence
Daniel Redmond
Horatio Ingo
Kristian Reedy
Samuel Smith
Tevita Sifa
Also suprised that Nili Fielea wasn't included after his NRC game and Pindan First Grade experience
Final trial match, tomorrow 5 30 Macgilvray
Any word on the final cut?
Went and had a squiz yesterday. Seemed to have plenty of depth in some areas and pretty light on in others.
Outside backs didn't look too threatening although to be fair pretty hard to gauge in these sort of games. Nili Fielea rocked up and had a run.
Ginger halfback really looks the goods as did the 10. Kala openside also very handy. Few of the big boy's upfront are way off the mark fitness wise.
WESTERN FORCE MEDIA RELEASE
Thursday, 22 January 2015
The Western Australian Under 20’s squad has been announced as they prepare to defend their crown at the Southern States Championships starting on Friday, 20 February in Adelaide.
The squad has retained seven players who were part of the WA squad that finished the Southern States Championships undefeated last year, as well as featuring four players who took to the field in WA’s Under 17 Junior Gold Cup triumph last year.
Twenty-seven players have been named, with the squad to be trimmed to a touring party of 25, with two shadow players in case of injury.
Nine local clubs are represented amongst the 27 players with Nedlands and Palmyra the most heavily featured with four players each.
Head Coach Dwayne Nestor said the tournament is another important step in Western Australia’s rugby pathway for many of the state’s aspiring players.
“We’ve undergone a number of trials and training sessions to settle on a squad, and we’ve been able to finalise a strong travelling party this week,” he said.
“We’d love to build on what was achieved last year, where we had a number of guys who were at a very high level, including several players who are now in the Western Force squad, the Future Force academy or part of the wider training group.
“There are some excellent young players within the squad, including guys like Jarome Lenard Te Kanawa and Nick Jooste, who’s still only 17, and I believe the number of quality players we have will put us in a very competitive position for the tournament.”
The squad also features many players who have passed through the Bankwest Rugby Academy under Nestor’s guidance, including upwards of 15 players who have been training four days a week during the off-season.

Westie, Auenga was best forward for prems last year for us as a 18 yr old. Kids a gun. Disappointed not to see lukas birch not back from shoulder injuries yet. Was u/20 player of year 2 years back and was looking the goods, ruban very handy too. Should step up to prems after leading the 2s last year.
