OMG!!!!! NO! NO! NO! Well at least the sharks won't be out:) and that is an easy win for the Force:) but bad for the super 14 as a whole:(
Sarfu state the Spears case involves complex commercial and legal matters
Spears are entitled to participate in Super 14 in 2007 and 2008.However the Spears will not be included in the 2006 Currie Cup.
Let the shit fight begin.Litigation, litigation etc etc
The only people who will win out of this will be the lawyers.
And the other 13 teams.....
hahaha that's what i was thinking burgs:)
IF they do end up playing there are some stipulations that ensure they pick up a few players from the relegated squad however they were simply terrible this year in all the matches they played in.
If im not mistaken i think they got belted 40 something zip by the Lions????
I'd say it would only benefit the other 9 teams... the uncertainty and associated problems SARugby is going through will be felt across their entire 5 (or six as it might be??) South African teams .. Sloppy made a point last night that for the current SA Test Players on tour, if their S14 team isn't in the competition can they be picked for the International games?? It would be most unusual if they could!!Quote:

yeah.. i reckon it is sad .. I reckon Aust and SA rugby (especially here in perth) have a great history of friendly rivalry, pity this shit pops up.
All the games I've been to at subi against the springboks are some of the most memorable!!
So what happens to the contracted players from the team that's gettin the boot?
My recollection is that the Spears get to choose any they want and the rest have to fight it out for squad spots with the other SA teams or play Currie Cup.
I guess that, as with the Force, not all squad members are S14 level so the Bok contendors should all be playing.
The cats would get the boot yes?
My thinking would be that "IF" The Spears are in then they would send the Cheetahs back to the Cats as in Super 12. That would make all avauilable for SA? Just a thought
I can't find a definitive list but think there are only about three Cats in the Boks anyway?
The Chuckers would snap them up so player numbers and availability should be maintained.
will be a financial disaster for the Cats though.. they'll have to break player contracts to stay afloat, while Ellis Park sits empty!
Not that I am a Sunday regular but doesn't the saying go "He helps those that help themselves"
man what a rediculous situation. How can SA rugby be run like this, there is no structure! I clearly dont understand the politics beneath the situation
I think they voted some die hard Spears man into Office and he then went about dismantling SA Rugby to suit himself and seems to have done a good job of it (totally screwed it). I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure it is politically motivated.Quote:
