David pocock out for 9 months ACL
This is really bad news for the wallabies and indeed the brumbies. However at this stage if George smith plays as he did tonight I think Robbin deans will be eating his words re George returning to the wallabies fold this year. Great to see George back out there. Feel for David and hope that he can recover as quickly as possible.
On a side note I think this is more a wallabies captain curse. Bring back sharpie
The performance of G.Smith would have seen Pocock benched for next week.
Could have been Force captain.
Would have been second fiddle to yesterdays hero
Now out for season
That's karma
Terrible to see any player out injured but I thought hooper played really well in the northern hemisphere so we won't lose a great deal
I think Matt Giteau is about the only player who has left the Force and played more games than not in the following season.
Don't forget Gill from the Reds. He's pushing selection for the Wallabies too.
Currnetly George Smith is not able to play for Wallabies as he is still under Japanese Contract playing here in off season.
Wonder if Mr Pulver will be making any rule changes??
Yeah its just an ARU rule. there may be a loop hole those as technically he IS playing is Aus which is the requirement. My Pick would be Gill as the Tahs have already started to destroy the player that was once Michael Hooper he is a shadow of the player he was last year.
I thought it was an IRB rule that said you couldn't be contracted to more than one organisation at the same time. But you guys know far far more than me so I stand corrected!
I would imagine if that were the case no-one playing in France could turn out at the RWC for Argentina, Georgia, Samoa, etc....?
The curse even extends to those who screwed over the force, eg Genia
Digby is the only one I can really think of that has become better since leaving to another aussie province, other than some of the ones that were only just starting their careers here like Timani.
Article 4.5.8 of the IRB regs for player contracts prevents players from being registered simultaneously with more than one union. Maybe that's what I'm getting confused with.
Is Smith registered with the Japanese union? If yes, r 4.5.8 may prevent him being registered with the ARU? Is that how it works?
